About the Workshop

==================================

This workshop will introduce and discuss the interaction phenomena of body connections and their applications. We aim to highlight both fundamental phenomena and practical applications, recognizing that sensory feedback plays a critical role in motor behavior and coordinated physical action. The workshop will provide a forum for interdisciplinary discussion on emerging interaction principles and their applications. Demonstrations related to sensory interfaces, embodied interaction, and robotic systems will also be organized to facilitate experiential understanding and technical exchange. Through these discussions and demonstrations, the workshop seeks to deepen our understanding of physically connected interaction and to explore its potential for future human–robot collaboration, augmentation, and intelligent systems.

This workshop will be held in a half-day format, featuring invited talks, oral presentations, interactive poster sessions, and hands-on demonstrations.

  • Session 1: Interaction from Human aspect (20 min x 3)

      • Title: Co-Embodiment Beyond Human-Human Interaction: Can Humans Share a Body with Machines?
    • (Invited) Gowrishankar Ganesh, (CNRS, France)
      • Title: Two is Better than One
    • Shunichi Kasahara, Research Director, Co-organizer
      • Title: Toward a Model of Body Integration in Real-Time Physical Interaction
  • Session 2: Interaction from Robot aspect (20 min x 3)

      • Title: Physical Human-Robot Interaction and Co-Learning (tentative)

      • Title: Robots Growing with Society

  • Session 3: Short Oral and Poster Presentations and/or Hands-on Demonstrations (50 min)
    • 5-10 posters are expected with some hands-on demonstrations.

Call for Submissions

Participants who wish to present posters or hands-on demonstrations are invited to submit a 1-page abstract (maximum 2 pages including references) related to the topics of this workshop. All manuscripts must be submitted in PDF format and will be peer-reviewed.

 

Submitted abstracts will remain the property of the authors and will not be formally published or indexed. Authors are free to submit their work elsewhere.
Accepted abstracts (with the authors’ permission) will be made available on the workshop website. Authors of accepted abstracts will present their work in poster or hands-on demonstrations during the workshop. At least one author of each accepted abstract is expected to register for and attend the workshop.
